Mumme.jpgI am pleased to announce that we have "revived" our Alumni Association at Trocaire College and I have agreed to help with the revitalization by serving as president of the association. I am one of many non-traditional students who have attended Trocaire College. I graduated from the RN program in '01 and since then so many good things have been happening at our alma mater that I would like to share with you.

Over the last few months I have been pleased to learn about so many changes to the physical plant. Some of the highlights include the fact that the college just has completed a $5.2 million capital campaign which includes the opening of the new Russell J. Salvatore School of Hospitality & Business Management. The programs are doing so well that a second-floor addition is currently underway. Radiologic Technology labs have been updated and a Dean of RT has been hired in anticipation of a new, four-year program. The program offerings in healthcare remain strong. The Commons (cafeteria) area has been remodeled. Plans for handicapped access and a redesigned courtyard are scheduled for completion by the end of this year.

All this great news comes with a request for your involvement and personal commitment to ensure the continued success of the college. I believe we can all give back to Trocaire by contributing our time, talent and treasures. Whether it is volunteering as a mentor or donating to the annual fund, our support will ultimately enhance a current student's ability to succeed.

Please consider "getting involved" as a member of the alumni board. You may contact Joni Williams, Director of Development and Alumni Affairs by calling her at 827-4341 or e-mail her at williamsjo@trocaire.edu.

I would also like to ask you to consider making a gift to this year's annual fund by making a tax-deductible gift of $50, $100 or whatever your circumstances allow. No gift is too large or too small. For your convenience, you may now make your payment by credit card or by mailing a check made payable to the Trocaire College Annual Fund, Trocaire College, 360 Choate Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14220. By the first of the year, you will be able to make your donation online.

Soon we will begin regular alumni updates via e-mail in the near future, so please consider sending us your e-mail address to learn more about your alma mater and fellow alums.

The mission of the Sisters of Mercy to instill a sense of dignity and self-worth continues to be the mantra by which we live. I hope it has served you well - it has for me. Thank you in advance for supporting Western New York's only private, two-year Mercy college.

Happy Holidays,
Henry (Hank) Mumme RN '01
Alumni Board President
