The Medical Coding and Reimbursement Certificate prepares individuals to utilize technical and computer skills to collect and analyze patient health information in order to perform diagnosis and procedure coding and billing for services provided by healthcare professionals in a variety of settings. There are over 40 settings where health information is maintained including hospitals, physician offices, nursing homes, home health agencies, ambulatory care clinics, insurance companies, government agencies, mental health and substance abuse facilities, correctional facilities, pharmaceutical companies, research companies, consulting firms, and billing companies, etc.

Classes in the Medical Coding & Reimbursement Certificate program are offered in the evening in order to support the working professional with the exception of the two internships which must be completed during the day.
