Trocaire Launches First International Program
BUFFALO, N.Y. - An Agreement of Cooperation between Trocaire College, Buffalo, New York and MODUL University, Vienna, Austria, was recently signed by Dr. Bassam M. Deeb, President of Trocaire College, Brandon Supernault, Director of Hospitality Management at Trocaire College and Karl Wöber, President of MODUL University.
As the college’s first international program, this partnership allows Hospitality Management students from Trocaire College to study for one semester (six months) as a visiting student at MODUL University. While at MODUL, hospitality students will be studying at the top ranked hospitality school in Austria. In addition, students will be part of an international student body of more than 250 students from more than fifty countries around the world. Trocaire College is only one of six institutions of Higher Education in the United States, and the only two-year hospitality program in the world, to partner with MODUL University.
"This wonderful study/work abroad program is truly one of the best international programs around and helps to enhance Trocaire’s program in continuing to be one of the finest Hospitality Management programs in Western New York,” noted hospitality program director Supernault. “This partnership allows students to work and study abroad, while enjoying the cultural elements of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I am truly proud of the hard work and commitment both institutions have made over the past year and a half to make this possible for our students."
This agreement will include faculty and research collaboration as well as a study abroad option that gives Trocaire College hospitality students the opportunity to take courses in Market Research & Consumer Behavior, Advertising & Marketing Communication, Business and Tourism Law, Revenue Management, and Latest Trends and Innovations.
In addition to their studies, Trocaire College students have the opportunity to complete their program internship hours at the Steigenberger Herrenhof Wien. This prestigious, 5 star hotel was recently rated one of the top 20 hotels in Europe by TripAdvisor.com. Upon completion of their semester at MODUL University, students will transfer back thirteen credits towards their Associate in Applied Science degree or Certificate in Hospitality Management at Trocaire College.
