Release Date:  May 9, 2012

BUFFALO, N.Y. -  A ceremony and luncheon was held at the Trocaire College Russell J. Salvatore School of Hospitality & Business in Williamsville, NY on April 27 in recognition of the tremendous support of the Statler Foundation.  Trocaire President Paul B. Hurley, Jr., presented a plaque to Statler Foundation Trustees Marguerite Collisano, Edward “Mike” Flynn, Arthur Sabia and Peter Vinolus.  This plaque, an expression of thanks for the Statler Foundation’s generosity and support of Trocaire students, will be displayed at the entrance to the culinary kitchen at the Salvatore School of Hospitality.

The ceremony included a luncheon prepared and served by Trocaire College hospitality program students.  The menu included items that were served in the historic Statler Hotel Rendezvous Room in the 1950’s and 1960’s.  Hospitality student, Malena Rodriguez, thanked the Statler Foundation Trustees for their support and expressed how fortunate she is to be able to attend Trocaire on a Statler Scholarship.

The Statler Foundation has been a generous benefactor to Trocaire’s Hospitality Management program for the past twenty years, providing the college more than $1.3 million in grants to enable economically challenged students to attend college.  The most recent gift of $145,000 was awarded to support the Hospitality Management program.
