Matheny Named Chief Enrollment Officer

BUFFALO, N.Y. -  Jacqueline Matheny has been named Trocaire College’s chief enrollment officer announced President Bassam M. Deeb, Ph.D.

As Trocaire’s chief enrollment officer, Matheny will oversee the activities of the Admissions, Student Financial Aid, Registrar’s and Veterans Affairs offices.  “In order to create a more robust enrollment operation, it was important to bring all of these critical, student-focused functions under the direction of one individual,” noted President Deeb.

“I am very excited to be a part of the Trocaire College community at this exciting time in the College’s history,” noted Matheny.  “I look forward to building on the College’s strong enrollment and academic excellence as we solidify our position as Western New York’s choice for healthcare education.”

Matheny comes to Trocaire from Medaille College where she was vice president for enrollment management, overseeing enrollment of new adult and graduate-level students at three campuses.  Matheny has 30-plus years of higher education experience at Medaille, having started as an admissions counselor, then director of admissions, later executive director of enrollment management for the school of adult and graduate education before being promoted to vice president.

An experienced executive, Matheny brings expertise in new market analysis, brand positioning, strategic planning, meeting/exceeding enrollment goals and staff development and retention.

“I am thrilled to have someone on the leadership team with the credentials that Jackie brings to Trocaire,” said Deeb.  Her knowledge of the Western New York community, ability to work and serve traditional and non-traditional students, and depth of experience in enrollment management were key reasons we invited her to join our Trocaire team.”

Matheny completed her undergraduate work at William Smith College and earned her Master of Science degree in Counselor Education from Canisius College.  Matheny has served on the Buffalo Niagara 360 Advisory Board, YWCA Advisory Board and the Search Committee Advisory Board for the Buffalo Public School Superintendent.
