Deeb Receives Community Recognition Award from St. John Maron Maronite Catholic Church

Bassam M. Deeb, Ph.D., president of Trocaire College, received the Community Recognition Award from St. John Maron Maronite Catholic Church in Williamsville, NY.

Deeb is the first recipient of this prestigious award given to a parishioner of St. John Maron Parish who assists the church and is proud of his/her Lebanese heritage and Maronite faith.  The award was presented in the presence of His Excellency, Most Reverend Gregory John Mansour, Bishop of the Eparchy of Saint Maron of Brooklyn.

Deeb was lauded for his many accomplishments since he arrived in Buffalo at the age of 15 to becoming president of Trocaire College.  Rev. Elie G. Kairouz, Pastor of St. John Maron Maronite Catholic Church noted, “In addition to his benevolence to his parish, Bassam Deeb contributes to the community-at-large by helping Trocaire students become contributing members of our society.  His youth and vision will help all attending Trocaire.  He is a person who displays the true essence of a Maronite Lebanese.”

The award was presented at the Annual St. Maron’s Feast Day Dinner and Ceremony on March 2 at the St. John Maron Church Cedars Banquet Facility in Williamsville, NY.
