Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program Achieves ACEN Accreditation
BUFFALO, N.Y. - It is with great pleasure that we announce that the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), formerly the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), has granted accreditation to Trocaire College’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program (RN-to-BSN).
The mission of the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) is to support the interests of nursing education, nursing practice, and the public by the functions of accreditation. Accreditation is a voluntary, self-regulatory process by which non-governmental associations recognize educational institutions or programs that have been found to meet or exceed standards and criteria for educational quality.
“As a fairly new program, we are honored to have received initial accreditation by the ACEN,” stated Dr. Susan Lombardo, Director of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. “Accreditation ensures that we are meeting the highest standards in nursing education. We will continue to provide a quality nursing education for students interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Nursing.”
Trocaire’s online program is an efficient way for RNs to build on their existing education and experience, providing the expertise and skills needed to advance in the nursing industry. The bachelor’s degree program graduated its first class in May 2012, beginning what the college believes will be a strong tradition of graduating highly skilled nurses at all levels – practical nursing, associate degree registered nursing and bachelor’s degree registered nursing.
