BUFFALO, N.Y. - James E. Carlo, Director of Trocaire College’s Hospitality Program and a trained culinary leader, will share his culinary techniques in a series of intimate cooking classes to be offered at the new Russell J. Salvatore School of Hospitality & Business in Lancaster.
First in the series is Part Time Petit Appetizers – great foods for entertaining any time of the year. Learn how to prepare smoked salmon puffs, mini crab cakes, prosciutto wrapped grilled asparagus and much more. This hands-on class will take place on Wednesday, February 3.
Whether clear, creamy or pureed, soups will warm you through the winter months. Learn the simple preparation techniques that have made soups part of our cuisine for centuries – New England clam chowder, Classic Chicken noodle and Minestrone are some of the featured menu items. This class will be held on Wednesday, February 24
Learn the culinary secrets and flavors of Southwest cuisine. Create some Tex-Mex specialties – Shrimp Tacos, Sante Fe Chicken, Chipotle and White Bean Burritos. This class will be offered on Wednesday, March 10.
Each class will be a demonstration style, hands-on class focusing on a particular theme. Carlo and Chris Cihak, a culinary graduate of Johnson and Wales University with over 15 years of experience in the industry, will walk each student through step by step recipe instructions to prepare a fantastic meal using skills learned in class. Each class will culminate with a delightful meal.
All classes are offered at the Russell J. Salvatore School of Hospitality & Business located at 6681 Transit Road in Lancaster from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
