BUFFALO, N.Y. - Trocaire College has received a $591,000 Higher Education Capital (HE Cap) Matching Grant to renovate and upgrade its educational facility. The funding will support improvements in two Radiologic Technology laboratories, technology in all classrooms, handicapped access, and a "commons/courtyard" reconfiguration.
The HE Cap Board approved $52 million in funding for 40 projects at 33 colleges in New York State.
"We are grateful for the hard work of Senator Dale Volker, Senator William Stachowski, and State Assemblyman Mark Schroeder in securing these funds for Trocaire College," said College President Dr. Paul B. Hurley, Jr. "This award would not have been possible without their commitment to Trocaire and the private colleges of New York State."
The renovation of the "commons/courtyard" area of the college will begin the middle of June with an expected completion date in September.
The He Cap program requires a three to one match by institutions. Grants may be used for the design, construction, acquisition or renovation of facilities.
Trocaire is a private career-directed college that enrolls about 1,100 students. Distinguished in the fields of nursing and health science education, Trocaire also offers programs in business and technology as well as liberal arts.
