BUFFALO, N.Y. - Trocaire College Health Information Technology students received department awards and other honors of academic achievement at the colleges annual Honors Convocation held on April 4.
Karen Hopkins
who resides in Amherst,
was awarded the Linda J. Heintzman Memorial Award, a scholarship given to a
graduating sophomore who has achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher. To receive this
award, a student must be motivated in achieving goals, possess a keen sense of
humor, and demonstrate financial need.
The Jacqueline G. Rivet Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to a first year student who achieves a GPA of 3.5 or higher, was awarded to Elizabeth O’Brien of West Seneca.
The Health Information Technology program recognition award was presented to two students who achieved academic excellence - Laura Radice (Depew) and Jennifer Zurawski (Hamburg). Jane Cannito received the Medical Coding & Reimbursement program recognition award.
Camille Rinaldo of Kenmore, received the New York Health Information Management Association’s Outstanding Achievement Award, which is presented to a senior student who has exhibited superior scholarship, integrity, initiative, enthusiasm, and demonstrated professional potential in the health information field.
