BUFFALO, N.Y. -  Two Trocaire College students took a break from their studies on March 11 to take a road trip to Albany to lobby for the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Programlobby-day-Mar-08-011web.jpg (HEOP).

HEOP students Alisha Alford and Leah Sojka, a Cheektowaga resident, joined Western New York HEOP students from other local colleges to lobby our representatives on behalf of the program.  The students, along with Assistant HEOP Director G. Roman Shchurowsky, met with Senator William Stachowski, Assemblyperson Crystal Peoples and Assemblyman Mark Schroeder – all three indicated support for Trocaire’s program.  The students discussed the need for continued financial and educational support of the HEOP program and shared some of their ideas and concerns.
