BUFFALO, N.Y. - Trocaire College has received a grant totaling $116,225 from The Statler Foundation. This generous gift will benefit the college’s Hospitality Management Program by providing high-quality hospitality management training to students from a variety of backgrounds. The Statler Foundation and Trocaire College will collaborate to significantly enhance the lives of disadvantaged students in Western New York and prepare them for employment in a career field with significant growth potential. Students will be recruited from city and first ring suburban secondary schools with high poverty rates. This gift will have a positive impact on the future of students in the Hospitality Management Program, most notably students who otherwise would not have the fiscal and/or academic resources to pursue higher education.
A recognition plaque has been placed in the foyer of Trocaire’s newly constructed facility, the Russell J. Salvatore School of Hospitality & Business, located on Transit Road in Lancaster. A formal recognition ceremony was held at the grand opening of this facility to commemorate the many contributions The Statler Foundation has made to Trocaire and to the Western New York community.
