Registered Nursing Student Manar Hamideh was honored as the Trocaire College Student Employee of the Year at an awards luncheon held recently at Erie Community College North Campus. Sponsored by the Niagara Frontier College Placement Association, this award is presented to students who have provided outstanding service in their employment on campus.
As a work study assistant in the Palisano Learning Center, Manar provides assistance to prospective college students taking placement tests and tutoring to Trocaire students seeking to improve their knowledge and skills. Her professionalism and ability to carry out tasks with a minimum of supervision have earned her the highest regard from her supervisors, Joseph Yonder, Director of Developmental Education, and Sr. Norine Truax, Director of Testing for the center. Joseph Yonder stated, “Every day that Manar comes to work, she is like a bright ray of sunshine. She is courteous, selfless and a team player.”
Manar, a resident of the City of Buffalo, re-located from Yonkers, NY two years ago. She takes great pride in being a Trocaire student and aspires to continuing her nursing education following her Trocaire graduation in 2007.
