A Message from President Paul B. Hurley, Jr.
College to Expand Transit Road Extension Center…
I would like to share some exciting news about the future of the Russell J. Salvatore School of Hospitality & Business. We are pleased to announce that the College has begun construction of a second floor to the existing building on Transit Road in Lancaster.
As part of our ”Inspire Hope Capital Campaign,” an additional 7,000 square feet (which will double the building size) will be added in the form of a second floor housing a science laboratory, additional classroom and office space and expanded student support services. Construction has already begun and the anticipated project completion date is set for January 2010. The project will cost $1,200,000 and funding has been acquired from multiple sources including the New York State Higher Education Capital Matching Program, donors to the “Inspire Hope” Capital Campaign, and institutional operating funds.
Classes Move to Temporary Location for Fall 2009 Semester…
Although the temporary loss of space at the Transit Road location presents a challenge for this fall semester, faculty and students from the business administration, computer network administration and hospitality programs have relocated to the Sacred Heart Parish Center located at 5331 Genesee Street in Bowmansville, just a mile and a half from our existing building.
The College Moves Ahead…
We are very pleased that within two years of opening the doors at the Russell J. Salvatore School, an additional floor will be added creating new and expanded learning opportunities for our students. This addition will allow for greater capacity, while still keeping true to our mission of meeting the needs of each individual student.
We are excited about undertaking this addition to the college and look forward to the finished results, which will greatly benefit our students and campus community.
I invite you to stay abreast of this project through our website. If you have any questions regarding the new addition please do not hesitate to contact me at hurleyp@trocaire.edu.
