Trocaire is a career-oriented private college specializing in healthcare. The College was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1958 and was originally named Sancta Maria College, a three-year college preparing young religious women to become teachers. In 1965, the college began admitting lay women and expanded academic offerings to include career and transfer programs. Trocaire College is accredited by the Middle States Commission of Colleges and Schools.
